Hello!

My name is Thomas and I own Good Music Medicine. I have been playing guitar for over 45 years. I am lucky enough to perform as a singer/songwriter and guitarist all around the front range with my band! 

Being a musician brings me great joy and I love to share that joy with others! It would be my honor to teach you, or your child, how to play guitar, or how to write songs and sing them to others! I am a patient; down to earth teacher and I work well with both children and adults. Lessons are never stressful or intimidating. If you are new to guitar as an adult, or child, I'd like to help get you on your way. If you are already playing, but need a push, reach out!!

I like to meet people where they are comfortable learning. If it’s all by feel, great! If you want some theory, great too. Learning musical theory is not necessary for beginning the journey on the guitar! You just need a basic understanding of the guitar and you can get started! However, if you want to learn basic musical theory to help explain the journey, we can do that as well.

In addition to beginner guitar, I specialize in teaching people the joys lead guitar work including; scales, phrasing, licks, tricks and how to know what key to play your lead in! I'll find a way to teach you about the fretboard; generally, by breaking things down and making each bit I teach you applicable and useful to everyday playing. (I don’t break down tabs and teach specific cover song leads, but rather teach basic Guitar Mastery so you can play freely in any genre. I work more with improvisational lead playing).

I also teach the use of standard and alternative Bar Chords, the Caged System basics, Fingerpicking, beginner singing and more! 

I love songwriting and have sold three of my songs as well as having songs on all the major streaming services. It is my sincere belief that any human being can write a song, learn to perform it and then share it with friends, or the world. I can help you in one lesson to see the possibility of this. Songwriting is very healing, super fun and EASY!

Lessons are 45 minutes and weekly is recommended. Cost is $50 per lesson. Cash always appreciated, Venmo is ok as well.

In addition, if you don't live in Colorado, I offer lessons via Zoom or FaceTime. The same rates apply. I email charts for you to follow along with if needed. I am happy to speak with you on the phone about your goals and my teaching style anytime!
